BBC Sport - Football - David Gold and David Sullivan seal West Ham takeover

Former Birmingham City owners David Gold and David Sullivan have taken control of West Ham with a 50% shareholding, BBC Sport understands.

An announcement is expected at 0900 GMT following the takeover from CB Holding.

The club is valued at £105m and their stake in it will give the duo the final say on all club matters.

Lotus F1 chief Tony Fernandes pulled out of the race on Monday night, while finance firm Intermarket and Italian Massimo Cellino were also interested.

The deal concludes a long-running saga over who will succeed CB Holdings, which has indicated the club is £38m in debt, as owners of West Ham.

Gold and Sullivan, who left Birmingham City in November following Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung's takeover, have been determined suitors of the Hammers for several months.

They once held shares in the club and boast the liquid assets required to deal with the club debt.

Another take over at West Ham, would have been nice having Gold in charge, he might have arranged some discount on some Rampant Rabbits for me.

Im joking of course, neither of these boys have enough money for us and both strike me as utter vermin.

Goat, we are in total agreement..............utter vermin they are pal(y)

never had much time for these two, they seem quite suited and it sounds appropriate that they have decided to take control of this club.

Sullivan, best noted for his smutty little enterprises, and top shelf business, is a West Ham supporter, lives in Essex in a fancy residence, and is, getting bored now actually. :dodgy:

West Ham have now become Birmingham without the money....

Sad day if your an irons fan

I'm fully enjoying their predicament.

If they are relegated, that will be mighty fine around here, but I'm suspicious they will beat the hangman again like they did before a couple of years back, tevez at Old Trafford and all that.

I've always had sympathies for west ham. They are a nice honest club who have shown it over the years that no matter how poor quality you have you can play good, attractive, attacking football.
Its just sad that every time they have an exciting young player coming through the ranks they eventually end up selling him or even the big star players.

Bellamy,Defoe,Lampard,Ferdinand,Carrick and now soon they may end up losing the likes of cole,Upson,Jack Collison. Add that to the tragic retirement of Dean Aston, the story of West Ham is very painful.

The West Ham of old, was legendary. they have a good history, with some outstanding players, and notorieties,

Oh wait, so have we, and we keep getting told to move on. Well. So should they.

They screw up, they die, same as so many old teams in the leagues.

They are another team that too many have spoken about with this question

"Why do they get taken over, and we do not?"

Because we have a Chairman that does not run at the first Dollar Sign, and then leave us on the poo pah.

God Bless "Billy Bullshit" (as too many like to call him).

Bill Kenwright for a knighthood. Bring it on.

Don't agree mate, they are a proper club with proper fans ...real old school, feel for them right now...and I was amazed at the level of debt they are in as well, shocking....

NUKE ICELAND...THE BUNCH OF FECKIN COD FONDLERS!!

Dont mind WH really!

Intresting stuff, WH over 100 mill in Debt with no income on player trading.

Utd a billion in debt.

The [Poor language removed] staring financial armeghedon in the face.

Villa need to sell to Buy.

Pompey loose winding up order.

Bill out!
