I read something where Tim Cahill was referred to as 'an Everton legend' and a comment which said he could not be a he did not win anything with Everton. Disagree with this as you can't be the entire team. So to get things going:-

Bob Latchford - Best Centre Forward as long as I have been watching (Since 1966 as far as I remember)
Tim Cahill - Better than Adrian Heath, could have played for any PL club. We are just lucky he stayed.
Duncan Ferguson - Regarded as 'A Legend' never played or scored enough to be anything of the sort.
Alan Ball v Peter Reid - A draw
Tim Howard - At his best just OK. Can't remember a keeper who gave me less confidence from a cross or one on one.
Kevin Ratcliffe - If Stones becomes 90% of the player he was then he might have earned the right to be as arrogant as his transfer request suggested.
One to watch - Besic

Legend is subjective. For example, if the criteria is "a trophy" then Ferguson qualifies but Cahill doesn't, nor does Lyons or Latchford. In reality all four gave different individual qualities to Everton.

and I adore the monkey faced one.

It varies. Like how much of a impact have they had. But overall how long was they with you. A player would really have to do something special to be classed as a legend after 1 season. Legends for me are the likes of Nev. Ratcliffe. Sharp. Ferguson. Even big Lakaku is a bit away from that status. For now anyway.
