Football has endured a pretty grim time of it lately, with the TV companies forcing teams to perform to empty stadiums in a seemingly never ending tribute to The Hunger Games. The amount of money in the game is obscene, incomprehensible sums being paid to bang average players, agents profiteering off of badly managed clubs. Everton have lost huge sums trying to close the gap to the financial top six, West Ham - WEST HAM - are above us in the league table and we all know that they will never be caught and soon it will be talk of the super seven.
None of us enjoy the game, it's no longer the sport we grew up with.
But today, news from Suffolk reached me of a development so heinous, so shocking it would be enough to force me to walk away from my club if similar happened here.
I am, of course, talking about Ed Sheeran sponsoring Ipswich Town's shirts next season. The question is posed, what would cause you to give up on Everton?
