So Tony Blair isnt Prime Minister anymore, but over here in Aus, people have never ever even heard of this guy.

They all think (well people on the street) Tony Blair is still PM, not that they really care.

I want to know what you guys think of him. He just seems like a total non event in any sense. Does he ever make speeches? Youd always hear Blair on about this and that but whats Brown about? Wheres he from? Even John Major had something to go off. Being really Boring. Something happens in the World and the PM usually has something to say...but Ive not heard boo from this goose. Did you vote for him or did he replace Blair?

Blair was one of the best orators I can remember, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him, but put him in front of a crowd and he was very effective.

Brown was given the job because the country voted for a Labour government, and no one else in the Labour party stood against him when Blair resigned, hence he's now our PM.

The image he's trying to push across is one of a serious statesman devoid of the spin and fluffery popular with Blair, but this in itself is spin and fluffery. He was just as much the architect of the Blair years as Blair himself and he's shown himself up over the past few weeks for the turd he undoubtably is.

Now now Bruce what the hell is Cameron all about, the exact same thing except he is ex Eton and something like 100th in line to the throne, but they hush that up!

Brown is academically superior to Blair, son of a minister from Scotland, blind in one eye so he has to be alert!

Theres no one else to vote for. Liberals are far too gay Tories should never, ever be an option after the disdain they showed for the city during the 80s.

Unfortunately most scousers are not middle class so we would not benefit from their policies.

It's interesting that people have started to talk about two individuals, Brown vs Cameron, rather than the various parties and any differences in their policies. It's almost as though the parties have become so similar that the personalities of their leaders is the only way to differentiate between them. I don't think that is the case, although Chico makes a good point, inasmuch as both parties are competing for the votes of a narrow section of the electorate, so-called 'key' voters in 'key' consituencies, and the rest of us are pissing in the wind.

I agree with Chico, Brown is Scottish and not a Torie [Poor language removed], therefore he's alright. (y)

Just because he's not spouting bollocks all over the shop (ala Cameron) doesn't make him a bad PM.
