Where are all the bees?

Not Brentford - actual bees and butterflies, insects in general.

Normally at this time of year our garden in teeming with critters, this year hardly anything anywhere. Went for a walk with my dad yesterday, same thing and that was in the wilds,

My mate is a wasp nest remover (not sure of actual title) and he normally does about5-8 nests a day at this time of year.... this week he has one 2 in 6 days.

If you have not noticed, go outside and have a look. Buddleia etc - lifeless

My work has plenty at the moment, but we have a pollinator field for that reason.

My wasp man reckons they’ll not come back this year and the effect on birds, bats hedgehogs etc will be huge

Probably the same for butterflies.

We've got a little bit of land out the front of the flat, herself has filled it with wildflowers. Loads knockin about this morning.
Still, the general decline in insects is a genuine concern.

Its not global warming, thats just a nonsense. Probably need to dig a little deeper.

There is an argument to suggesr 5g might be an issue... or other NWO items.

But ill let you decide..

I’ve hardly seen any Swallows, House Martins or Swifts this year too, who live solely on insects.

However I’ve just been for my morning trail run and saw loads of butterflies basking in the sun.

It’s got to be down to how wet it’s been.

On average I get 5 nests a summer in my loft due to living in the countryside.

Had none this year and doesn’t look like I’ll be getting any. Something is up
