Where do we go from here?

As much as I love the idea of having Lampard and his team working with us, I think it's clear now that even a dream team of Catterick, Kendall and Royle wouldn't be able to get a tune out of this lot.

Even if he works the absolute miracle it's going to take to avoid relegation, we are obviously looking at a summer of losing key players and not making any decent enough signings to replace them with too. So next season will be more struggle again.

I just don't honestly see how we get out of this death spiral, even relegation to a lower division would more likely be followed by a Leeds or Sunderland style slide than a Newcastle or Villa style bounce back. At least I've got my best years behind me, the kids have got years more of this to look forward to.

Many of us have been saying for a few years that we would be fighting relegation with these players at some stage and the chickens have come home to roost. Worst squad of gutless players I've ever seen.

At the moment we are heading for the Championship which will prompt a fire sale of our better players (not that there are many to choose from).

Our remaining fixtures are tough, in reality we need probably 9 points to have a chance and the Burnley game is a massive 6 pointer

We will lose three players who have contributed absolutely nothing this season - Delph, Tosun and Sigurdsson. If we can somehow get rid of Keane, Holgate, Iwobi, and if Coleman can face facts and retire, we'll have to hope that the management are a hundred times better at recruiting than we've been in recent years.
