He's been excellent at left back over the past few months and is keeping Nuno Valente out of the side. Do you think he'll settle at left back or centre half?

kep him flexible Bruce although he is good enough to play at L back for England, bllody hell if Carragher can get it Joelon is a must(y) (y) We will switch him to a more central role if anything happens to Stubbs or Yobo, both of whom I suspect took knocks last night:angry:

Considering we paid so much for Baines I would think Moyes must see him as a centre back and I tend to agree. What it does say however is that Moyes isn't that confident in Valente any more as he seems to be third choice left back.

I'd like to see him moved to the middle when baines is fit. If baines is injured then Pip should play there. We need Jo and Jo to get working on their partnership.

Stubbs' experience is invaluable to Yobo, I think but we've got to stop relying on him because we all know this must surely be his last season.

It'll difficult to drop Stubbs, but I can see no other solution than Leighton at leftback and Joleon in the centre. A backline with Hibbbert, Yobo, Lescott & Baines in, is almost defensively impeccable. They'd be great.

With Stubb's age he will start playing less and less and Lescott will make the CB his own. Baines was signed to play LB and that is where the long term future for them both stands.

Agree with you on Stubbs. You just have to love him he's a true blue thru and thru. Eventually Lescott although capable on the left should move to the middle with Yobo. Baines will give the attack a edge with his ability to move upfield and overlap and a great deliver of a cross to a hopeful hitman in the box(Yak Perhaps). Still not sorted out on the right could Neville be surplus if Hibbo and Jags are sloted their. My personal opinion is Jags will slot in were Cars is in a year. We have to find a place for him. I still want to see Pienaar some more and see what he can bring to us on the left. I'm hopeful for some attractive football this year a la Diamond shown against Werner Bremen.

Centre Back.

If we want him to become our future number 1 centre back with Yobo then he will need to be there from now on, especially as we have Baines.

Sorry but I based my answer on current form of the team and right now, you don't mess with a winning combination. I left him at left back.

That said, I believe a Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Baines combination is stronger but we're winning with Hibbert, Yobo, Stubbs, & Lescott.

Don't change it just yet.

Havnt seen lescott play centre back much, but i love seeign him play left back, he can charge up the left side easily, hes got skill i tell ya!!!, if he sorted out his crossing he would be a great left back, better than cole imo.

Well a successfull team cant have to many bellybuttons.

You dont know whether theyre in or out. You need someone to own the position.

Stubbs won't be able to play more than this season and perhaps 1 more.. so our future backline should consist off:

Jags-Yobo-Lescott-Baines

So CD for Lescott in the future.

OK, you get the CD, I will get the DVD. no probs. ;) ;)

Puzzled me this one, played nuno at left back all pre season and joleen at centre half ...... then dropped nuno for the first game. possibly using the excuse that wigan are a physical side so he could then slip baines in the side when fit ?? ;)
