Where's the root of Everton's problems?

No one gives anyone a bollockimg on the pitch anymore, it’s all nicely nicey, no passion no drive.
Only the games where Dunc was in charge did I see enough passion, yes that long ago.
I’m not advocating Big Dunc as manager but I got the feeling no one on the pitch that day give less than 100% for fear of getting a blast. It’s a shame we haven’t got a captain that does that on the pitch during the game, instead of pointing and blaming others
To be fair to Coleman he comes out a few days later to say it wasn't good enough, rinse and repeat.

Poor management/DOF appointments previously then chopping and changing as a result have compounded the problems and each time embarking on a new ‘project’ that doesn’t get seen through to the end.
This is exactly why on this occasion we have to avoid knee jerk reactions and give this time. Carlo AND Brands are not the mugs some on here make them out to be and sacking them any time soon is not the answer.

That observation alone suggests that the present team has some promise. If we were as abject as people claim we are at our lows, there wouldn't be mood swings.

Sure, even Sheffield and West Brom have good scalps this season, but hardly a collection of them.

We have no patience.

One minute we are going to win the league and all happy laughing at videos with an Everton B song from years gone by.

Next minute its all despair and everyone is to blame.

I suppose because we have the most Bi-Polar players in the league. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we were excellent tonight. There seems to be no middle ground with performances we are either 8/10 or 2/10

The start of the season the performances were good, since then they have dropped off a cliff.

We must be one of the most boring teams to watch these last few months.

If we get a goal we keep it tight and hang on.

Agreed we are terrible to watch but if we played more attacking football I believe we would be in a worse position in the league. He knows we don’t have legs to recover.

It's so obviously down to us not having players as good as the sides above us. Over a 38 game season everything levels out and usually you finish in the position that reflects your squad's ability. You'll always get a surprise like West Ham this year but they'll find it difficult to replicate next time around.

Exactly. We looked good until the derby then from that point onwards we've either been grinding games out by the odd goal or losing.

So are you lamenting the fact that we were good and now we're not so good? Impatient bi-polar fan you, mate.

Nah but seriously, obviously some people take the doom-mongering too far after a few bad results but as you yourself have pointed out, we can only play a low-block, cagey, defensive game well atm. Now I'm looking at the positives that this will stand us in good stead away from home next season and away in Europe if we get there. Just hoping that if we get the right players in we can play better stuff and take the game to the opposition more.

But by and large, I think a lot of fans are justified if feeling this season is a missed opportunity given the positions we've been in at times.
