I can report my dogs excrement does turn white after a day or so.
Believe it’s to do with bone being present in his feed, and the reason it’s no longer as prevalent is due to same being removed / replaced from the majority of supermarket feeds, that and there’s less on (most) pavements now so the ratio of non bone turds to bone in turds is skewed.
Therefore it can be deduced that it is unlikely to mark a widespread comeback.

There is certainly a lot less white dog poo nowadays. I guess that this is a result of woke dogs going down the vegan / vegetarian route and no longer incorporating bones into their diet.
