Player Valuation: £500k
Just watched this and got to admit that I was really shocked when nearly every player voted Iwobi as the most skilful player...the question I was left asking was where is that skill when he plays a match?? Also, Demarai Gray, voting for himself, got to love that confidence...something the team needs.....

Nothing at all?

Maybe we're all in with a chance, then. Just like when I'm approaching an attractive woman and I tell myself that me looking like an aged and hugely overweight Quasimodo doesn't matter. I'm with you, mate.

Well it doesn’t, does it. All the skills in the world don’t matter on the pitch if you can’t pass, cross or shoot afterwards.

To be fair, I was at fault for being too idle to research what was being meant by 'skill'. If it was sorta defined as being able to keep the ball under control while flicking it from your left big toe onto your right buttock, and then onto your shoulder and back to your toe again, then I fully agree that that is next to meaningless, and might have value only if 101 other talents were present. I was trying to say that, although general skill (control, deception, passing, etc) still needs physical excellence, commitment, and football intelligence to be meaningful, it doesn't actually mean nothing at all.

I would just use the word ability for what you’re describing. Skill is stepovers.
