i think all these refs have a running bet between them, who can screw up a game the most without getting caught.

I think they meet up at teh annual referee's dinner and pick a team at random to pick on fgor the next 10 years...

He wont apologise....they never do, i was disgraced by the linesman even more, he had a clear view of the non given penalty, i had a clear view from teh upper gwlayds of it, two fouls commited in the box.

I hate referees...

Everton are far to nice to ever get an apology.

How did that referee got of the pitch without being swamped by angry Everton players and coaching staff? Did you see the Liverpool players reaction to that penalty against Portsmouth?

If that was Liverpool their players would have been going apeshit.

But that again you... I recall Weir, Stubbs and co shaking the hands of Collina after Villarreal.

weir got bit at fulham, fulham for gods sake and it was dusted under the carpet.

does anyone know what 'going postal' means?

graham poll, your card is marked my boy. oh yes.

remember the linesman telling collina to keep an eye on druncan in our amazing european cup run last time? or was it collina tellin the linesman? whatever a player should come on a pitch with a clean sheet, not being scrutinised

Lets not use the referee as a scapegoat for last night. Sure, he had a rubbish game but we had two penalties and they had two men sent off. That we didn't put this tie to bed last night is no ones fault but our own.

While I agree Bruce to be honest it wasn't really two penalties was it?

Under the rules of last night, If we concede a penalty at their ground we should sprint into the box until they miss it...

Unfortunately, I can blame the ref for allowing a penalty to be retaken when it was clear that Metalist players were in the box before Everton players.

Never should have been retaken, Everton would have been up 2-0, and I suspect we'd have seen a different result.

Yes, I think I will blame the ref on this one.

Human Error? No.

Incompetence? Yes.

Anichebe was booked for going mental at the ref.

One of their players was sent off, so we should count ourselfs lucky.

No we were incredibly unlucky. The ref had no consistancy, the save penalty had encroachement, as did the missed penalty. If you set the precendent, you don't enforce it some of the time.

And the Anichebe penalty, the dude straight up shoulder tackled him!!

At 9 men we should have laid them down to rest, but when we do put it in the net, he calls for a foul on Anichebe when he had been letting them go all bloody night for them!
