To be real, keeping like that happens in the mens as well. De Gea literally stood on the post for one of our goals, just to name one of very many lol
 

Can somebody explain the maths behind how England beating Scotland 0-6 in a nations league is not enough for team GB to qualify for the Olympics?

Is there seriously an algorithm somewhere suggesting a squad made up of the European Cup holders, world Cup semi-finalists, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland is not elite enough to field a team in the Olympics??

The 4 teams finishing top of their group got the spots as well as a place in the final four to decide the trophy. England had to win their group to go through but lost out because the Netherlands got a 4th after the England game finished to give them a slightly better GD (+8 to +7)

But how does an England performance relate to Scotland, n. Ireland and Wales forming GB?

Because football isn’t a usual Olympic sport for Team GB, they’ve only had 2 appearances because, like the men’s, the other home nations don’t want to be part of it for fear UEFA and FIFA will try and make a GB team a permanent thing abolishing all 4 home nations
