For those not familiar with the North American market, we really don't have to much by way of soccer/football radio commentary. Because of the hosts comments made about Hillsborough and then forthcoming boycotts and threats against the children of World Soccer Daily staff, they have decided to discountinue the show. I find it disgusting and here is the email I sent to Hicks:

To whom it may concern:

Hope everyone is happy that Liverpool “fans” got World Soccer Daily taken off the air. It is shameful that no one from Liverpool had the heart to oppose the persecution of the staff at World Soccer Daily. Personal threats against people draws the line. If you disagree with someone and want to boycott products, fine. If you want to tell people not to listen to the show, fine. By not coming out against personal threats is just as bad (ask many of the citizens of Germany during the Nazi regime how looking the other way worked out). It’s a sad day and makes me all the more proud to support Everton as my chosen team. I will no longer be purchasing Carling beer (which is a shame, because it is one of my favorite beers).

maybe you dont realise that the issue you commented on is a very tender one, a lot of blues would have bombarded you with stuff as well.
it's an issue that crosses the divide, so if you have come on seeking approval then i think you can expect more of the same.

it's a bit like us all saying that we couldn't give a flying about your dead in Iraq and Afghanistan cos they shouldnt be there.

so what was said about hillsborough then ?

If I'm correct, he said something on the lines that Liverpool fans have never taken responsiblity for their actions and they always have an excuse. At Heysel he said that they always blame the ground and didn't want to kill anyone. They just wanted to bash their skulls in for a while. He said that Hillsborough has never had an incidnet like what happened there in its history and that the gate crashers in Athens have proven that none of their fans have learned a thing and its only a matter of time before they are making an excuse when something else happens.

Agreed, i am an idiot for getting the beer wrong.

The comments on Hillsborough were along the lines that Liverpool fans shared some of the responsible for the events of that day.

I don't pretend to know all of the details of that tragic day but even if you disagree with the hosts comments, is it appropriate to make threats against the children of the person that made those comments.
