but thought I might try my hand at a BEST IN THE WORLD THIS YEAR TEAM. If that makes sense....

G.K - CECH
Best goalie in the world for mine. Had a injured year and its showed as Chelsea badly missed him, and I reckon in all seriousness, that him in the sticks would have won it for Chelsea. Just missed out - Robinson (has to be the only Goalie to score this year)

L.B - LESCOTT
Totally biased here, but from what Ive seen, he's one cool cat who played there most of the year and did a better job than anyone in the Prem. Gold. And now he's started getting forward. Just missed out - Zanetti

C.B - ALEX
Top class, cool, calm, and built like a brick shithouse. Just missed out - Vidic

C.B - TERRY
For want of putting too many Chelski players in, he's a guy Id put in any side, albeit one playing against us... Just missed out - Materazzi

R.B - LAHM
Great World Cup, and looks classy Could be a left Back but good enough to play either flank me thinks. Just missed out - Van Bronkhorst

L.M - KAKA
Say no more - Just missed out - Messi

C.M - VIERA
World Cup final and blew everyone in Italy away. You might not see much of him not in the prem, but you can see him tackle someone across the Channel. Just missed out - Fabregas

C.M - SCHOLES
Instrumental and influenencial. Ginger who youd HATE playing if you had to. Vision second to none. Just missed out - Ronaldinho

R.M - C.RONALDO
Yeah whatever. Your good, but not quite Kaka good yet. Just missed out - Arteta

F.W - DROGBA
Kept Chelski ticking over when everyone else was crap. Seems to fall over alot for a guy the size of a treetrunk though... - Just missed out - David Villa

F.W - IBRAHIMOVIC
Playing to potential now, and of Henry hadnt been injured would have just missed out - Just missed out - Eto

SUBS - Dont need any with this mob.

BEST TEAM OF THE YEAR - US!! (But elsewhere - Sevilla)

My team.

GK: Cech (I would normally say Buffon but as he's in Serie B I won't)

RB: G.Neville - very under-rated in my opinion and with the likes of Zanetti and Cafu reaching the end of their careers is still one of the best around. Honourable mention goes to Zambrotta and Eboue.

CB: Ferdinand - cut out the mistakes and formed a great partnership with Vidic.

CB: Nesta - One of the classiest around and still doing the business for Milan.

LB: Grosso - Cole hasn't done well, Evra has faded towards the end, Roberto Carlos is too old. Lescott nearly made it but he's still a centreback so the nod goes to Grosso.

DEFMID: Essien - The guy has been a rock all season. Honourable nods to Viera and Gattuso

CMID: Scholes - Best player in England imo.

CMID: Kaka - Quite possibly the best in the world at the moment. Has the lot.

RFWD: Messi - Has shown this season the talent that will make him a great of the game.

CFWD: Drogba - There isn't a wash of great strikers at the moment and Drogba is probably the best. Eto'o has had a troubled season. RVN has been as prolific as usual and comes close, as does Ibrahimovic but Drogba is in for his beastliness.

LFWD: Ronaldo - Added an end result to his undoubted talent. Best player in the PL.
