Did you not just see the little man in action then? He doesn't score simple goals, there is nobody on the planet that comes close to how good this guy is, and he's only 22.

Well Lionel Messi is the greatest player in the world at the moment by a country mile.
So not really sure why I have started a thread because there is no discussion, he is that good at football.

He is a joy to watch, although it must be said that the Barca system is absolutely perfect for him. They compliment each other incredibly well. It's perhaps not surprising that he doesn't play so well for Argentina where the system, and arguably the other players, are neither as good or as well suited to his play.

Well I don't think it's that he's not suited to Argentina, it's certainly down to the fact that Maradona whilst brilliant as a player is a dog head when it comes to coaching.
Also worth noting that not many South American footballers do well for their nation outside of a major tournament like the World Cup. All the travelling etc....
There can't surely be a denial that he is the greatest at the moment? I mean your not going to get the greatest ever turning out for Gravesend now are we?
