Yakubu & Fernandes Set To Sign For Everton

Player Valuation: £100k
Middlesbrough hitman Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Benfica starlet Manuel Fernandes are set to sign for Everton on Sunday.

Fernandes - who has already agreed a deal and undertaken a medical at the club - has already finalised a deal potentially worth £9m, whilst Yakubu is expected to undergo talks on Saturday evening, aiming to complete an approximate £11m move to Goodison Park, having been left out of the Middlesbrough side to face Fulham today.

Both deals will consecutively smash the clubs previous transfer record of £8.6m paid for Andy Johnson from Crystal Palace.

This news comes as Middlesbrough launch an audacious £9m bid to replace the Nigerian ace with Brazilian international Alfonso Alves.

This amazing double signing will take Evertons total spending this summer to in excess of £30m - adding to the capture of Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka - after a quiet opening to the window. Neither player will be available for todays game against Reading, with Fernandes merely waiting for international clearance, but Everton will hope to complete a double signing press conference on Sunday or Monday at the latest - Fernandes, however, may even complete his move later on today.

Are you delighted by the highly probable double swoop? Counting down the hours? Wondering when Newcastle are going to swoop in? ;) Discuss away in the Blue Room.

Obladi-Oblada We go oooooonn.. LALALALALALALA!

If we get both of these we must be counted as one of the most successful teams on the transfermarket this summer.
