That's dead right, Mike, but it looks like Yakubu simply didn't want the shirt, and I can only assume that's for marketing/commercial reasons.

Also, that number 9 shirt belongs on our main striker. If we do sign another player, we could end up with our number 9 sitting on the bench, or playing at right back, for instance. That just doesn't seem right to me. I'm not normally conservative by nature, but some traditions should be honoured.
