Yannick Bolasie

Again you're being overly harsh. Pre Williams we had the 15th worst defence on the league statistically, with him we are 4th. Bolasie was our leading assister at the time of injury with 5 assists and he'd created more clear goal scoring chances than anyone in the league at the time of injury. Calvert-Lewin is a 20-year old from league one, who was brought in on Unsworths say so, for his development squad at a cost of £1m, it's Calvert-Lewin who has progressed behind the scenes enough to warrant his current first team squad status. I also doubt very much that the keeper was ever more than a stop gap, most managers bring in one or two they'd previously worked with. Like when El Coco brought half of wigans relegated side.

I know I shouldn't bite at your bitter pettiness, but you make some woefully lobsided posts. This being one. Incredibly bitter.
Dont read anything into the defensive stats: we play with about three or four more players behind the ball than in previous seasons - of course we'll concede less. Bolasie? Come on, dont embarrass yourself, he's poor. Let's jus leave it at that. Calvert Lewin is James Vaughan class...if he's lucky. He belongs in the Champonship.

Have to agree fully with this.

Agree up to a point on the defensive side, we may have better stats but I think the team sitting deeper has more to do with it than any vast improvement in our actual defenders defending. Full backs still too easily got at, at times, and none of our centre-backs have been great. Only first season though, so lets see.

On Bolasie, I didn't want him and def not at that price but he is not a poor player. You are being way OTT. He is a proven effective Prem League player although maddeningly inconsistent and he does occasionally look like he is a top athlete thats just taken up football recently. Main problem with him being we already had inconsistent but decent attackers.

on Calvert Lewin, it's just dumb writing off players, especially young ones, so quickly. Another lets see on this.

We are conceding less and scoring more.

You have also hammered Coleman, Baines, Jagielka and now Williams this season, whilst doing the same to the manager, so forgive me if something, somewhere doesn't add up.

A defence that you don't think is good enough, managed by a negative manager, that you seemingly don't think is good enough, that is outscoring last seasons version of us and conceding less.

The only one to escape your wrath is Mori. Wonder why that is.

Last season we scored 59 we are currently on 53 last season we conceded 55 we are currently on 34

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

Even if it was true (it isnt) then it doesnt explain how we've scored more goals than previous seasons.

I'd like to throw something into the mix that I realise sounds very Geordie, but nontheless:

Had we had Bolasie on the pitch on Tuesday we'd have won. Imagine the counter-attacking he could have done.

Anyway, as you were.:coffee:

Said that to me arl fella. I don't like bolasie, from palace to us I just see a show pony who is technically limited. However, in games like that where the pitch was wide open he would have been an excellent out ball.

Probably would have tripped over himself s couple of times but guaranteed United would not have committed that many men forward with him ready to run into a huge open space

Exactly.

And whilst his end product isn't particularly tasty at time - his first touch is immaculate.

Shame he's uber crocked.

If his pace has gone he's pretty much an irrelevance
if that happens then you are spot on.
This isn't aimed at you at all - but i'm always confused with people writing players off before seeing them back. The amount of those saying in the Coleman thread that the lad is / could be finished is baffling.
Let's see what happens but again, you're right - he's nothing without that searing pace (Yannick that is).

£27M wasted. Williams looks a dud who'll only get worse too. Stekelenburg - poor. Calvert Lewin is not up to the task. Lookman - ok...who knows really.

That's £45M spent either on poor or speculative buys.

Schneiderlin and Gueye are the only successes in the transfer market (and even there you;d have to qualify that statement given the former hasn't played a lot of games yet and might be a poor injury prospect and the latter has dipped dramatically in form).
lollollollollollol

I doubt that. Bolasie is like Forrest Gump. Great at running to no particular end
