Yannick Bolasie

It is true. We play deep and conservatively.

And our better scoring rate is largely down to Lukaku having a blistering season.
hmm
not sure
we have energy in midfield now, further reaching that the lonely role that McCarthy occupied.
I love GB but against counter-attacking team he's inappropriate. Always has been.
Now we are tailoring our midfield to the opposition.
Hence the shore up.

IMO anyway.

I think he is, at best, average.

He had been around the PL long enough for that opinion to be formed and nowt he did here suggested those whom hold that opinion of him were wrong IMO.

And in that Burnley game, their winning goal came about because he couldn't control the ball in our half and lunged in to foul the fellow whom took the ball off've him.

They scored as a result of that free kick.

To me, it is no coincidence that our midwinter revival coincided with his unfortunate injury.

Sorry guys, but that's the way I see it :(

Ey - fair play to you Khal. No criticism from me in that regard.

I think it's horses for courses. In games like Wednesday he would have been perfect imo.

He's gotta be the most divisive player we've had since the Moyes era. I view his absence during our revival from more of a correlation does not equal causation viewpoint, as many other factors have contributed to our success, such as in no particular order 1) Scheiderlin 2) Rom's growth 3) the play of Robles 4) The introduction of Davies 5) Barkley's revival 6) The whole squad finally "getting" what RK wanted out of them after a few months 7) etc.

I can see the viewpoint where Bolasie isn't worth his price tag. But I don't think he's rubbish. He definitely was a solid contributor prior to his injury. Among other things, his assist at Man City shows us what he can bring to our beloved Blues.

Decent squad rotation player. Will never understand why we paid the money we did. If he was to never play for us again no one would be that bothered. Usually when your record signing is out everyone's gutted.

Never understood why he's so polarizing of a player. Didn't get near enough of a chance to prove himself in blue before going out injured. Perhaps it was the fee we paid for him, but that's not his fault, nor is the injury. Excited to see him play with some fire when he comes back. Hopeful for him to prove his doubters wrong.

It might have something to do with him overhitting 90% of his crosses and being seemingly incapable of lifting his head up when he has the ball mate, leaving nearly every attack he's involved with to dissolve as soon as he goes near it.

Fair enough, and I guess looking at it he did start a good amount of our games before going out, and when he didn't start he was a used substitute..

He's a long way off from just being your typical "inconsistent" winger and I'm not saying the lad doesn't have some mountains to climb, but I'd hate to see him go before at least being given a chance to bounce back after this injury if possible.

13 goals in 150 games? I'd say that's exactly what he is.

The defence: despite the 'improvement' it needs gutting. I'd keep Coleman and throw the rest to the Championship or lower PL teams.

Bolasie: we played kick and run footy when he was in the team. Personally I dont want that back again. He's an expensive flop. Sorry to say that while hes still in recovery from injury, but there it is.

and that reply is fine....but my point was mainly Bolasie is not a poor footballer and it's silly to write off players after so short a time...especially when young.

my problem is not so much with the player. he obviously has it in him to contribute well to a decent level over premier league season.

my issue is with the decision.

you have 24m to spend. you want to improve your attack. you apparently can pay decent wages. your squad has an attack made up of youth, inconsistency, no brains or just average.

taking all this into account, you go to Crystal Palace and look to splurge the lot on what is obviously another wildly inconsistent and pretty braindead instinctive footballer.

i dont think our profile was that low, nor the task above so hard that you would eventually come to that decision.

as lovely and smiley a chap as he seems, that is just baffling and annoying to me.
