It seems this profile of player at Everton is subject to more pressure and scorn than other players. It can alter the player’s trajectory, unable to handle that pressure they don’t develop into the player perhaps they could or the player feels unfairly treated and leaves.

This seems in direct comparison to one mile across the park where the same talent is treated a lot more supportively by fans.

It’s a culture difference perhaps.

Yes, look at Davies, he has it all, talent, athleticism, dress sense, hair, everything one could wish for, but the Evertonians resent him, its not right.
He felt the humongous pressure mid air on his shoulders performing that scissor kick. You could almost see thoasands of hands pulling him down on is rear-end. Ill-kept dirty bitten fingernails n all.

If anything, Gordon has had nothing but encouragement and patience from fans.

To the annoyance of those who aren't emotionally attached and don't care if he's homegrown - because it's goal contributions that matter.

When silly money gets thrown at you, it'd be silly not to sell.

100%

And not world class before you're 21, you're not good enough apparently and we want you out 'cause your good for FFP... especially for someone who we've never seen play before and scores similar amounts in Ligue 1

Constant demand of new signings is a bad addiction to modern football fans, they need the dopamine kick of the new reveal video, then it's on to the next one seconds later 'wHo's NexT ThEn'!

I’m seeing and have seen a decent % of fans who give him scorn mate. He liked a tweet on the weekend defending him against these types of Evertonians so the player is certainly aware of it.

Just seems a bit strange many Evertonians opt for criticism of their players instead of support. Loads do support Gordon so obvs this thread ain’t talking about them.

Well very summarised.

I call these fans “Love Island Evertonians” or LIE for short.

Ebbrell as well. Granted, he didn’t become the player that many thought he would (Lilleshall graduate, England U-21 captain) but it used to do my head in to hear the abuse he got from some “fans”
