Past player: Duncan Ferguson for what he represented, he loved the club and without him its history would have been very different, he did put the team before himself and at times of need he led by example, every team needs people like that.

Current player: Coleman, great work rate, vision and quality.

Really surprised at how low Bally is on votes.

Depends on the age demographic, mate.

I've seen loads of Alan Ball footage, but never watched him week in, week out so I couldn't really say any pre-2002 player is my favourite. Judging by that poll, most people who have voted are somewhere between 15-30 years old.

Neither have I obvs and I still voted for him, boss from what I know and have seen.

Starting supporting Everton in 1984 and have loved players from Sheedy, McCall, Cottee, Warzycha, Ferguson, Kantchelskis, Limpar and the current crop but my fav of all time was Preki just for his ridiculous name.

However Everton have had some awesome players and if judging them on ability the best player we've ever had is Gazza, just we had him well after his best.

So with votes so far we have Tim Cahill, edging Duncan with Southall and Alan Ball also worth an honourable mention.

No other player seeming close.......

Well that's surprised me for a start..

surprised too, Dell...but on reflection Timmy was a true blue for us, wore his heart on his sleeve, and also had the distinction of being the best in the league at something (hanging in the air and heading towards goal).

With history like Dixie Dean, you can't go wrong being a player with a skill like that.

Cahill would be in my favourite 11, I reckon.

I'm not old enough to have known the likes of Ball, Labone, Royle, etc... but regardless, my favourite player is Cahill, and the best player I've seen Kanchelskis.
