Underneath all the chattering there’s heaven
YouTube 11-a-side team Hashtag United join the English football pyramid

A team put together for YouTube will be placed into Spartan South Midlands Division One next season which sees Broxbourne Borough get relegated.

Hashtag United was created by a group of mates in 2016 with the purpose of filming their matches for YouTube content that appeals to a FIFA-playing generation.

At the time of writing, their channel has 369,000 subscribers. The organisation have also ventured into the world of eSports by sponsoring professional FIFA players.

Their squad is a collection of guys who mostly have full-time jobs, but their digital influence individually and collectively has grown rapidly since the team's inception.

Despite only forming two years ago, they've already played at Wembley Stadium and are travelling the world playing matches fit for online consumption. Hashtag play teams varying from other YouTube channels to work, university and legends teams.

But now the club run by successful YouTuber Spencer Owen - who captains the side - will play in the English football pyramid from the start of next season as they take the place of Broxbourne Borough in the 10th tier. A sub-committee of the FA's league committee met on Wednesday to confirm the provisional allocations for next season.

Unsurprisingly, Broxbourne weren't too pleased to find out they had been relegated.

Bit weird this one.

Isn't one of them a member on here?

Edit - Harry hesketh is his name. No idea his members name on here but I remember him messaging In the past.

this spencer fella is basically a youtuber who has made millions from his youtube video's and then started business ventures because of it - he basically pays harry on here to play fifa and presumably takes a cut of any winnings he gets from tournaments, i think at the moment he has 3 or 4 fifa players in his organisation, he also runs a football team and travels all over the world with them and organises massive matches at wembley against other famous youtubers and retired pro footballers. As a result of this he has managed to network with so many people in the upper echeleons of the gaming and football industry and presumably because of that he managed to now get his team into the football pyramid.

to summise he is basically the eddie hearn of the fifa / football community

Oh dear, This is the beginning of the end isn't it. The first Millenials are now men and we get this. Where is the exit?
They'll not be men for another 40 years when they realise that pharmaceuticals aren't necessary and aren't good, and they grow out of sweets and fuzzy drinks. I wouldn't worry.
