Scenes of that type really do make me sick, all those dead animals and environments destroyed, for what our cars that are killing the planet any way, when will we ever learn. Years ago I was involved in cleaning up a slick in the Mersey with solvents, they actually did more damage than the oil:( :(

i'm unhappy with the methods they are using to clean this up. the koreans are freaking out about this though. they want the quick fix and they don't seem to realize there is none. it's going to take weeks, months even of hands on cleaning individual areas and animals and even then it will still be a disaster.

10,000 metric tonnes of oil is just unthinkably huge.

Catastrophic, and yes teppic the effects will still be seen for at least five years, barnacles disappear, seaweeds go, shorelife disappears not just because of the surface results it is also what lies in the sand and silt. I can take anyone down to the Mersey and show you the effects of that spill as it is there in the sand strata and will be forever. Christ we think we're so clever:angry:
