What happens if say Palace buy a replacement who passes his medical and then Zaha failed his for us? They'd be left with 2 players and possibly without the money to cover the deal

I'm not disputing what you say by the way as I have no idea. Just curious as to what would happen in that scenario.

Palace would wait for Zaha's medical (they'd also know whether he passes or not since they have just done their own medical upon his return from ACON).

Once they know Zaha is 100% going, they then sign the papers for replacement.

For Zaha to chuck in a transfer request yesterday must surely suggest we (or another club) have given an indication that there will be an attempt to push the deal on today. I can only assume negotiations have been ongoing but it's all a little too quiet at the moment.

They can get a deal sheet done no problem??? All they do is submit that to the FA and then when Zaha finalises his move to us, they finalise their move for the replacement. Its only a deal sheet, not the full papers. Deal sheet doesnt mean the deal has to go ahead.
