Well, it took a long and bumpy road to get somewhere, but this is what I wanted when I started this discussion. I'll contact someone who runs one of our podcasts and see if something can be done. Given the strength of animosity towards Forest, I think it's doubtful tbh, but we'll see.
Yes, I've accepted that as a Forest fan, I'm not approaching this discussion with clean hands. We're currently getting a lot of stick from Wolves fans, but if they breach FFP in the future (which is more likely to happen with the future changes to the rules) and approached us to seek some form...
Fantastic point... currently having a great discussion with some Ipswich fans, who have waited a long time to bounce back to the Premier League and if they do get promoted, they're looking at Forest and thinking, we better not give it too much of a go, but the alternative is to be a Sheffield...
Agreed, we spent frivolously. Cost of our squad on promotion was £12 million, I think the nearest squad cost at the time was Bournemouth at around £150 million, so spending had to be made. As for Marinakis, he certainly is prepared to invest, which I'd prefer over an owner who isn't.
I do have a connection with the group that organise the banners at the City Ground, but I think the consensus from this forum is that they don't want anything to do with a joint protest and I've understood the reasons why, even though I think a joint message would be a good idea. Unless there's...
Ok understood, I was born in the nineties and I'm aware of the chants and understand some of the history, if the strength of feeling is that deep, I can understand why its still raw with Everton fans. Would be great if there could be some form of mutual working together to at least get a shared...
I fully agree with this, it will probably only change if more and more clubs receive deductions. It's been a steep learning curve for me this discussion. Apologies for re-opening old wounds and sorry for any offence caused.
Problem is with taking a snapshot from Twitter or forums isn't probably representative of the entire fan base. I've admitted that I've been incredibly naive and foolish and in some ways I regret my initial post. It doesn't change my opinion that the FFP rules are simply protecting the big 6...
After the first few posts about scab, Tory scum, you called us cheats... it has moved on to some form of discussion about FFP to be fair. It took a while to get there, but I think I've held my own pretty well. Had to point out a few times that I'm one individual fan and never joined in with the...
To explain:
I made the original post
Majority of initial response was 'scab, scum, poverty chanter'
I explained in one post that I'm used to abuse as have sometimes received racial abuse and point number 2 language is very mild compared to said racial abuse.
Someone then asked me about the...
I only brought it up as I was replying to some of the responses I'd got to my original post, which was very mild mannered compared to the racial abuse. I go to away games and its the odd monkey gesture, a lot better in the Premier League, but was really bad at Millwall once and Bristol City was...
I think we were in a relegation fight regardless of the points deduction! I don't think any club who hasn't been impacted by FFP is going to approach Everton and Forest with open arms. I've accepted that there's a flaw to my argument and taken on board the strength of feeling from Everton fans...
