Incredible game of togger. What looked on paper as being a potentially turgid affair delivered THAT ffs.

Get in there Blues. Spirit, heart, desire and leaving everything on that pitch. Such a shame we weren’t in there to witness it in the flesh.

CBA reading the thread back, but I reckon there’s some proper vault material in here like lol

I'm not proud of what I called Micheal Keane after he headed that chance straight at Lloris at 4-3.

I don’t think fans appreciate the fine lines and performances that win football matches. Bernard played well tonight,
Iwobi wasn’t bad but wasn’t great but he was outstanding against Wolves. Every player is playing their part this season and no one deserves scapegoat criticism. Ancelloti has workers wonders this season considering the injuries we have had but every player has shown some value throughout the season and he has changed systems bore the brunt of some critisism but kept it together and everyone in the squad is stepping up to the plate regardless of place. There is a lot of positives here. Fulham will be tough but we’ve still got Richy and King to come in if Dom isn’t 100%. Tom is proving to be a good deputy while we are waiting for Allan to come back to full fitness. We are in good place right now. COYB’S

More Jose press after game stuff

How do you make sense of what happened tonight when you started so well

We played amazingly well when we had the ball. We started created chances immediately from the first minute. We were very creative, very dynamic. Of course in the extra time, that finesse, that quality dropped, which is normal when you get into extra time.

But the team was very creative, very dynamic, very happy, which is something I'm asking from the players, which is a happy team when we have the ball. So happy with that.
Don't make me speak please too much about the defensive mistakes we made, because that's obvious and I don't feel comfortable to be speaking about that.
In a straight line to saying we played amazingly well with the ball and we made mistakes and were punished by it.

When you go through it with your players, will you focus on the character they showed or the mistakes?

The character was very good. Very good. We played two days ago, we have to play in two days time, played 90 minutes plus 30. Fighting, playing, character amazing. The team is together, is fighting together, played very well in the last Premier League match, today in terms of that creation that dynamic they were very, very good again. Big effort by everybody.

Harry Kane played the best part of an hour, was that the last thing you wanted with that big game coming at the weekend?

Yeah, it’s true, but Harry played 60 and others they played 120. Of course we didn’t want to go to extra-time and that’s what we tried to do during the 90 minutes was to win in 90 minutes.
We showed that since minute one, we showed that when the score was 3-3. The guys they always try to win the match. That was the fantastic thing.

Where was Gareth Bale tonight? Is he fit?

Well I think it's better for me to say. So we played against West Bromwich on the Sunday and he didn't play. On Monday I was a little bit surprised by him wanting to have a scan because he was not comfortable with some muscular area.

So he didn't train on Monday and then on Tuesday he trained with the team but I was informed that his desire would be to work with the sports science for a couple of days to strengthen that area where he's not feeling comfortable. That's the reason why he's not here.

Is this an injury that will keep him out for the weekend?

I don’t think it is an obvious clear injury.
I would says he feels uncomfortable and because of that the training session he couldn’t be 100 percent, but I don’t think we can speak about an injury.

You've spoken in the past about wanting players to make themselves available even with little problems, do you want Gareth Bale to say he can play despite feeling a bit uncomfortable?

Sorry, this is Everton match press conference and Gareth was not here and the only thing I can say about Gareth was the question that I was asked and I wanted to make it very clear the situation which I'm being completely open and honest about.

Bale phoning it in as per.

Hard to say who was MOM but I can tell you who it wasn’t... Michael Keane. Kept tripping on the ball, think he called DCL for the first goal?

Pundits banging on about mistakes from Spurs cost them but there were plenty for us as well, Mina not sorting his legs out, miscommunication first goal, awful marking from Sigs...

But let them ignore us ffs, we don’t care

One thing for certain is this Everton team has a real desire to win. In amongst our discipline and hard work we catch teams out, manage games, force mistakes, and play good attacking passing footy. We scored 5 super goals tonight against a top 4 team.

Toss up between Davies and Doucoure for me but the Duke was everywhere, seemed to actually get fitter the longer the game went on.

Get in there

Keane was due one having been a man mountain for us all season. Tbf he wasn’t at his best but still produced some good moments and helped steady the ship near the end. One of the most improved players in the team this season.

Seems to be getting better and better, Ancelotti influence possibly.

He seems to have finally found his position - and yes, working with a far better manager than he's had before.

He'll have off moments. It's easy to forget he's only 22. Vast experience but his physicality has always been a problem for him in that area and he's working hard in the gym apparently now and doing compound exercises to help with that power off the mark.

He wasn't good enough for a vast chunk of last season but the trick is just not to go overboard now he's showing what he can do. But he's played his way into being a player Carlo trusts to do a key job in our team when needed.

For the second game running, young Tom deserved to win MOM but not got my vote.

Tonight it goes to Bernard. The amount of stick he got in here after coming on was ridiculous, but he answered them all in the best way possible.

He's a good squad player for us, capable of moments like tonight and I'm glad he's still here.

Absolutely fantastic to see Seamus showing some form and fitness too. And hopefully Richy uses that game and those 2 excellent goals to kickstart his season. Also Siggy showing why we paid so much money for him. We know he's capable of it, just a shame he doesn't do it more often.
Perfect game for Seamus. If we can just get the opposition to play 90 minutes in the car park before the game starts he'll be the force of old lol

Yeah does seem half a yard faster, it's certainly helped carrying the ball, doesn't seem to just have to rely on fouls, passing has been excellent to.

I kept it to myself but at 4-4 I said to myself no say are we going to come out the Victor's of a great game like this. Normal its so everton to be the suckered in this roy of the rovers type thing.

Would bever but it out there into the universe.

Thank you everton.

This is a new everton.

No more "Everton that"
