Big game against Palace now. Can see from the last 3 matches we are still a far way off competing towards the top end. Can't afford to get dragged right down there before the World Cup with memories of last season fresh in the mind.
 
For that to happen, your two wingers need to be willing to WANT the ball and to be able to attack the opponents full backs.

Neither of Gordon / Gray had any courage to do that tonight.
thought gray did OK. but no overlapping from either full back isn't acceptable in the modern game.

that's either poor tactics from Frank or the inability of both full backs to overlap
 


Saturday is a massive game. Their pace against our slug full backs worries me.

Could potentially be in the bottom 3 if we don't get something..
 
We’ve brought in 11 players since Lampard took charge last Jan. He has to start getting more out of the current crop but there is a need for more attacking additions.

To be fair the back 4 looks miles better when Patterson is in there, that was the first priority. I’m not sure how much more he can get out of Gray/McNeil/Gordon, they’re just not good enough for this level.
