Even given our better organisation and play lately, the par score for this game was at least 0-2. 0-3 is a tad disappointing, but nothing to wet beds over. The next games are winnable for us, and must result in at least 3 points. By all means, we should all wet beds if that doesn't happen, but not till then. COYB!

I was pretty hopeful that we might eek out a point like before, but we needed to play our best and be lucky and they needed to play poorly. I don't think we played badly, they are just much better than us and had that touch of class when needed.
Objectively speaking, aside from Pickford (and some might even question that) I don't think any of our players would make their subs bench. Probably for another thread, and I know there has always been a disparity between the haves and have-nots, but I can't remember a time when a team could legitimately put out two teams that could challenge each other for the league. It is what it is - up until recently we had a dodgy Russian sugar-daddy paying the bills of course, so can't be oh so holy ourselves - but seems a bit off. Mad that Phillips can't get a game, when he would be one of the better players in most of the teams in the league...

Just a few things that annoyed me today:

The rumours that Pickford had been pre-warned about time wasting.

The referee changing the rules to allow Foden to stay on the field after receiving treatment.

The referee looking starstruck by certain City players and wanting to be their best mate.

Pickford practically telling Gundogan to shoot to his right by leaving the entire side of the goal open. That dive to try and save it was ridiculous.

Did you see Guardiola constantly outside his technical area and coaching on the pitch at times, but the good old fourth official just had a wry smile on his face about it?🙄

No complaints about the result. Pleased for Paterson who had a good game. O'Neill our best player (again) Refereeing and Liners made some bad and some inconsistent decisions. Citeh never got into their top gear and tbh they didn't need to.

No more or less confident about our survival chances now than I was before the game.

Those of us who stayed gave the team a good reception at the end of the game which was deserved based on effort and attitude.

Hopeful and still all to play for!

No one gets decisions against City, so it's not just us. They are as favoured with decisions as any team has been since United of the mid 2000s.

They are allowed to do countless tactical fouls without yellows, they get the softest pens in the league, and they get a free kick every time you go near one of their players.

Referees don't give decisions against Guardiola.
