Didn't Bally get a hatrick in that game or am I getting mixed up with another game.

We /He were in 'poor form' all season for various reasons and combinations of reasons along with the most of the team...and it all came to a head on that night, mistake begat mistake, there was a collective...'just catch the kin thing willya Westy' (or similar...but not in a nasty way, more like in a ffs its a gang of part timers way) from The Gwladys. Westy then had an 'arm wave' - not quite 2 fingers - go back at the crowd.
Minor uproar ensued

Westy had officially 'Lost It' good style.

And then a few weeks later it all went pear shaped within a few days with Panathanaikos and the RS semi at Old Trafford.
And then the barren years of the 70's


But despite all that they were better times than the last 3 decades

went that one myself, boys pen with mate, was about 10 or 11. Good win 6-2 .

Was at that game in the street end as a 12 year old. From memory we absolutely battered them but just couldn't score until the more-or-less last kick of the game. Sure Andy Rankin had a red keepers shirt on also which didn't go down too well.

I never thought Everton were that arsed about Europe in the way that Man Utd, Leeds and Liverpool were back then.

10 years old sat on a small stool tied by 2 legs to the end of one of the barriers in the Park End. Had been doing that for at least 4 years and getting measured against the D in the wall. Would have been with me dad, uncle and grandad. Bet I got thrown over the turnstile as well

He was right too. Its nice to get a euro trophy but winning the English title far outweighs any euro bauble.
