Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this cold day here in Hyvinkää .I tried the viking thing but it wouldn't load .
I hope all had good night's sleep and have a fine day today . Not much happening here as the wife and I are on a diet I am not allowed to make the pies until after we are weighed tomorrow morning ! I bought pure pork fat and had to render it down but it came out so good ,there were a sort of light pork scratching left when the lard melted .I had to try one ,they were a bit tasteless so I put salt on one and they would work but not for me and the diet .Why is it all the good stuff is bad for you ? Have a great day all COYB.
We had -24° here yesterday but it is warmer this morning -21° 🇫🇮

Good to see you back. How are your dad and sister getting on ?…..
Morning all.

Not brilliant, had a rough start in his flat, I touched upon the incontinence but i think the pants she got must be working as she doesn't mention it. Then just a few weeks into being there a pipe burst and when she went round he was sat in a flooded flat, had to go into temporary housing.

After that he finally got a pendant, beggars belief he didn't have one. He still shouldn't really be on his own, he hates it there and he doesn't really eat much apart from weetabix. I mentioned he loves cheese but he couldn't remember which ones he liked.

If I know my Dad he wouldn't want to live like this and he has even said to myu sister he wishes he could just go to sleep. I personally wouldn't want to live like that. It is all well and good people living longer but at what cost, it's no sort of life for him.

It isn't nice is it, I can't imagine how tough it is for you mate.

I suspect a few of us will face the same dilemma as your dad in our later years. When does the lack of quality of life take over from our will to live. ? Until then we’ll keep our hopes up .

Sorry to hear this mate. It sounds like he really should be in a care home tbh because this will continue to take its toll on you and especially your sister. The incontinence pads are brilliant, especially the Tesco ones. I think I said that I change my wife before she goes to bed, as soon as she wakes up in the morning and then again mid-afternoon and this works a treat, but of course you have to be there. I remember my mum who had all her faculties and was even still driving at 89 saying to me one day that she had lived long enough, a shock to hear, but inevitable I suppose. Anyway, my best wishes to you, your father and your sister, I know it’s hard for you all…..

Hello everybody. How are you all? You do realised we could be the first team to be knocked out in this round of the FA Cup tomorrow. I'm thinking positive though. Hopefully we will have got over our Christmas blip.

I am well and truly back on the straight and narrow. Swimming yesterday, gym today, salad for tea! I am determined.

It's tough about your Dad @Terrarian. It does sound like he should be in a care home but who wants that. I don't. Glad the beer is going down well @jazzy.

Not sure if I've told you but I'll be in Liverpool on 12 Jan. It's my birthday and my son has bought us tickets for the Empire - an evening with Everton Legends. {'m very much looking forward to that. I can't remember who is on but I do remember Reid and Southall (possibly Van den Hauwe as well) being mentioned so that will be fun.

I'm currently watching the darts final. That kid from Warrington is amazing.

Finally, because I haven't got my specs on, I misread Viking for Vampire so here's me as a vampire. 🤣
