6 + 2 Point Deductions

Why did they say 'mid February' and then keep everyone hanging on? Regardless of opinions on what punishment Everton deserve, there can be no doubt this has been handled in a shocking manner. And there is the 2nd charge, and appeal, to come yet.
Maybe it's the second charge that's the delay? Could they have worked out there's no way they can do all this drama again before June, and are negotiating a way of dealing with both now? They are the same thing after all. Just trying to think of reasons for the delay.

Perhaps they don’t want to upset Citeh, they are playing tonight 😢

Not really.

It’s highly likely that whatever punishment comes from the 2nd charge will be significantly less than the first (because 2 of the 3 seasons have already been dealt with/punished).

Forest almost certainly have to get at least as big a punishment as whatever we end up for the first charge.

Let’s say we don’t get any points back.

Everton 1st charge: 10pts
Everton 2nd charge: 3pts
Everton running points total: 17

Forest first charge: 10pts
Forest running points total: 15

And that’s a fairly pessimistic outlook (if we don’t get any points back on the first I think it’s unlikely we get ANY points for the 2nd)
We still stay up.

Look at the points per game that we’ve achieved. Continue this for the rest of the season. You’ll see we finish outside the bottom three.
However, we WILL get 5 back minimum, nothing to write home about for the second.
Luton and forest will finish below us.

The time to panic is over. We’re almost safe

Yeah I know he was 'Player X', I just never realised that he was found innocent, which I think could be decent for our appeal, but not decent for greater society if he's not in jail lol
he wasn't found innocent, he was never charged with an offence so there was insufficient evidence to even bring a charge to then be later decided by a jury. There may be many reasons why there was insufficient evidence, including that he did nothing wrong to the victim declined to participate in any proceedings and withdrew their evidence. We dont know where this lies, not that it matters for this purpose.

Stand down lads, according to the BBC they haven't even set a date for the appeal hearing yet:

Everton manager Sean Dyche wants a "speedier" verdict for "the good of football" on their appeal against a 10-point deduction after they boosted their Premier League survival hopes with a late draw against Crystal Palace.

Dyche spoke out after his side climbed out of the relegation zone with a point secured by Amadou Onana's 84th-minute header.
The result took Everton up to 17th, above Luton on goal difference.

They had 10 points deducted by an independent commission in November for financial rule breaches, but lodged an appeal the following month.
No date for the appeal hearing has yet been confirmed.

Erm, it literally has already been heard??

Astonishingly harsh to put Moyes into that list.

For all his flaws, we played VASTLY better football under Moyes than any team has ever played under any of those other managers.
Moyes has gotten worse in that regard, I think perhaps a bit scarred from sland, utd and sociedad. There were times we played great stuff under him but it never became a consistent ethos.
