As we get ready to leave our special old home,if you have to pick one image when Goodison has long gone and a distant memory that will give you a glow and maybe even bring a tear to your eye what would it be?(Awaits all humorous replies such as Mr Testicles obviously 😉🤣)Mine would be this one attached, might be a little strange as I was not even born but my old fella was there, his hero "God" is in the picture scoring a magnificent soaring header which pretty much sealed the1963 title, the beautiful old school Everton packed Goodison Road Stand in the background,it just seems to encapsulate what combined Everton and Goodison were and should be about👍

Duncan Ferguson's shirt-twirling celebration as a raucous, tense, and hostile Goodison exploded with joy, defiance, and relief when we took the lead against - and inevitably defeated - one of the greatest sides ever to play at our old home.

I saw the great 80s side, and Tricky Trev's goal against Bayern will likely feature here, but that 1995 goal when we were, as now, fighting relegation summed up what the old ground could do for poor sides - very often us - against even superb champions. It elevated the ordinary to the extraordinary.

United were so intimidated, I have no doubt this win paved the way for the FA Cup final victory, our last trophy, against the same side three months later.
