??? Everton have said nothing and all sky said was we spoke to Potter 6 weeks ago. Then made a big who ha over who gets him.

As for Dyche.. his job very much in doubt 3 wins all seasons.

How have they Badly managed it?

On this I believe fully that we did speak/interview Potter around the time they said.

Also think it was with an eye on replacing Dyche this summer, but the grounds changed with both how badly Dyche is doing and west hams interest - and Brady's personal connection to Potter

Still think we may see him here though as think the leaks are all coming from West Hams DoF to pressure the owner as there's obviously different ces about how much and who wants him there

This is the gamble they have gone for.

They are rolling the dice and keeping Dyche in charge until the summer and hoping he keeps us up. Spend what money they have available on new players this window instead of paying off Dyche and getting a quick fix manager in on a short term basis.

They have a new manager in mind but he is either in a job ( At Brentford ) or does not want to take up a new job until the summer ( Southgate and others ) This way with PSR still being in play we will have more money in the summer to tempt a new manager for his signings.

Surely spending money on new players costs much more than changing manager. I'm not sure if that's the cost efficient option

And if that is their decision, its a gamble that won't work. They are just ensuring the new manager has less time to make an impact. Its a bad strategy.

It’s a gamble if they replace him also, there no guarantee that the replacement comes in and keeps us up.

The choice that makes the most economic sense is to keep him in and replace with the long term successor in the summer, that is of course if he keeps us up.

They will look at the league and think Leicester and Southampton our certs, and likely Ipswich will fall away. It is a gamble no doubt, but history suggest Dyche will pick up some results, the major worry is when you watch the team you can’t see a win coming.

One thing for certain is that the last year at Goodison should have been a celebration of the history of the place and it’s set to be one of depression.

If the summer transfer budget is dyches potential pay off money we need to give up now 😬

Works both way though doesn't it, no one from the club has categorially denied it either have they or any of the most reliable Everton sources.

If Leicester are certs despite being only 3 points behind us, then I’d be extremely concerned. There’s nothing to suggest Ipswich will fall away as well, as they actually appear to be improving rather than getting worse.

I think people are assuming Leicester are going to get hit with P&S breaches and a points deduction next week.

There is no way they wont replace him if we are in the relegation zone with say 5-10 games to go. And we will be with him in charge.

Even if they do, they’ll appeal it and it will drag on until April anyway, with a chance they’ll get all the points back or a meagre token gesture like 2 points. We cannot be banking on them getting a big deduction, if our owners are playing that game then I’m seriously worried.

Not this time they won't, they are expected to get the book thrown at them this time, sounds like they could be in a fair bit of trouble.

Might be more than ironic if TFGs tactical withdrawal from purchase negotiations with Moshiri in July ncomes back to cost them the time needed to respond now to an escalating situation.

I read yesterday that the absence of a permanent CEO may also have a bearing on any decision regarding Dyche though surely it wouldn't block them in the final analysis.

I can understand them wanting the right deal for TFG and ensuring Moshiri walked away with less - they can argue that is money which they can ultimately reinvest in the club.

But things are coming to a head on the pitch now and for the January window. We don't yet have a new CEO - I can understand them waiting on someone working out their notice.

They may have thought they could get through January and beyond largely as things are but I hope they realise now that that's not the case.

Assuming Marc Watts is overseeing things day to day, the other parts of the jigsaw need to fall in place soon. The next couple of weeks are absolutely critical. The decision makers need to be hands on and very much engaged.
