Yes I’m supposed to be going out tonight. Will be trying to stick to alcohol free beer but I’m not very disciplined.

What exactly are you doing with the booze? I find a few beers seems to bring on that initial wave of lethargy and rest. Drunk sleep aint great sleep,but it's better than none.

Haven’t had a proper hangover for at least a year and won’t have one for the next six months as decided to abstain.

Tell you what though 0% alcoholic beers are a revelation. The Peroni one you can’t tell the difference.

Peroni, Corona & Heineken 0.0% arguably the top 3 of the readily-available lagers simply based on them tasting so similar to their full-fat counterparts. The alcohol-free Erdinger (which also happens to be isotonic!) is good as well for something a bit different.

For them driving I can understand it, wanting to join in all the same. Think it's a liberty that the price of a drink with alcohol in it contains a slice of alcohol duty to the tax man, whereas the zero option is similarly or the same cost with no such duty. 'But but but' licensee pub runners cry, 'we're struggling to survive', so make an evening out in the pub a bit more within reach and see the custom come back, because one day when there is a generation or maybe a bit more, that the lifestyle option hasn't seen or lived, it'll be an alien concept and will see even more closures and flat conversions that the current state of the industry.

The pub licensees aren’t making out like bandits on alcohol free beer mate , have a look at the price and process of manufacture and what they pay for it before it gets to the customer .
