Is the correct answer. People just want a signing, any signing it seems but there’s no point getting someone in for the sake of it. You just end up with another wages thief bloating out the squad that you don’t particularly want, and then can’t shift like a lot of our squad the last few years. We apparently have much more freedom to spend and overhaul the squad post June this year, so the opportunity will be there to sign players who’ll really make a difference going forwards. I’d hate to eat in to that budget by spending even a small portion of that money, just to get a short term fix in for the remainder of this season. If a good player becomes available that we’d go for in the summer anyway and someone we see as a long term benefit to what we want to build, then by all means do it. Otherwise leave the average tat on the shelf for someone else. We’ll stay up regardless despite what the bed wetters think.
