If we’re considering the next few months as we should be, that is an audition for Moyes to stay on longer, today was an example of how much work he has to do and how far he has to go despite the result. Moyes has to show far more for me to even think it’s worth signing players this month. Save the money for the next guy.
This is a bit mad. New manager bounce will surely fade at some point and DCL went off injured today. We need signings like yesterday.
And a good manager.
Yeah like Brighton's who threw his dummy out the pram at the end.

Think I'm fine with Moyes for now mate.

We never learn. Doesn’t really matter if the fans do I guess. Hopefully leadership has.
Not sure today was a fair assessment on how we will plan to play. Our squad is already very short and we got more injuries that meant we ended up hanging on with 10 men.

Sometimes you have to just fight and battle to get a result, especially with 10 men. I know we didn't create much but we did an awful lot of good stuff today. I dont think Brighton created one clear chance and that's very unusual for them.

The squad needs one or two signings just to help with injuries. The manager needs more options to be able to perform better more consistently.

We came out of halftime with the same pattern of play. The team that was out there is largely the players he’s going to have to use and who have been more competitive in stretches. What we did in the second half was a management decision about what mentality to play with and how conservative to be.

We do not need to spend more money that will be wasted by managers not up to the task. If Moyes is a stopgap signings are going to do more harm than good. No player is going to fix the second half and make us do anything but cling for dear life because the manager set that up. No signing is going to have us not playing 6-3-1 for 45 minutes.

It's going to be difficult to play expansive football with this squad, with this many injuries.

It's not even about mentality for me. We just don't have enough good players available right now. Finding a way to get results matters more than performance in these circumstances.

There’s a line, playing 6-3-1 is always on the wrong side of it

I'll give you Southampton for starters. They were rubbish and still beat us.

There's an element of making Brighton look bad. That's twice in a row we've had opponents play badly... or is it that the players are now being better coached?
Fair point, but we had results like that with Dyche as well. Beat Brighton 5-1 away at least I think it was Dyche maybe Lampard. It's all a blur.

66% win rate. Cry harder.

Whereas us no matter how bad we are just can’t be gotten rid of.
Incredible statement and reason we ended up in relegation battles sleep walking our way there and was literally 1 game away from going down. Been heading towards being that team for years and again we’re in a battle to survive this season. We’ve been a poorly run club for years and resemble previous premier league teams like Stoke who at times had some good players but also total 💩 remember Newcastle fans thinking the exact same and they went down. Hopefully new owners change all the previous damage done here and start building for the future and hopefully that’s started with Moyes this season.

I think this Telegraph journalist was on grandpa's ol' cough medicine last night.
