Groucho's Fact Hunt

Yeah, the attack on the average person is disingenuous.

Most people drive economical cars in an economical way, and a lot of folk have switched to electric.

Like many people, I recycle as much as possible. It’s not our fault but we’re an easy target.

What about unnecessary flights? Unregulated shipping? Russia and China spewing industrial waste directly into the atmosphere at never before seen levels.

But yeah, it’s our fault for driving really clean running cars.
Per person, US are the most responsible for climate pollution I believe.

Not to mention that celeb in the US a few weeks back that went 2 hours on her private jet to their favourite pizzeria and then flew home again. Some bint of a singer I've never heard of.
A couple of years ago, there was a European climate summit in the south of England. All the leaders flew in on private jets.

Then people slag Greta Thunberg off.

I despair somtimes.

Plus India and China = 60%
Meanwhile down here in Australia with our 1% the Govt. are in the process of bankrupting the people via monster power bills to pay for the 'cheap' renewables...while selling coal to anybody who'll buy it...and burn it...like china and india
Yet refusing to use one of the world's biggest deposits of carbon free power, aka, uranium due to 1980s style ban the bomb anti nuclear ideology...oh but it's OK to sign up to buy half a dozen US built atomic subs

Shows that he’s not bothered about it. Pretty sure the individual has to apply and pay for it. Rather save his time and money to make more great films.

Yes, more intrigued by the craft than the accolades. They've practically begged him to accept a star. Interesting man.

I may be wrong (ha!) but it appears that a Michael Mann film has only ever earned one Oscar, 'The last of the Mohicans' won best sound in 1992.

In 1961-62 Catterick had agreed a deal for £15,000 for Billy Bremner with the Leeds Chairman. Revie found out and said if he goes - I Go!

No Deal.
He was the reason that Leeds team were so good.
I wasn't around but whenever I read about Bobby Collins I always wonder why we sold him.
There's not many others aside from Alan Ball that it hurt to sell.

Catterick had a few rules

1) If you spoke your mind and were 30 he'd get rid asap...Collins, replacement Stevens, then Kay.
2) If you spoke your mind and he had a replacement - gone asap...Gabriel, replacement Kendall
3) You weren't doing the business - gone asap...Young, Vernon, replacement Harvey Pickering, replacement Royle
4) if you spoke your mind but were doing the business rule 3 didn't apply - until it did.

If you were borderline 1, 2, or 3 and / or he could get good money for you - gone asap...Ball*

*the Ball of late 1971 allegedly with gambling problems was not the Ball of 1966-69...and he doubled his money, good business.
