ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Can you imagine knowing the stupid tit's and them showing you it as if it's a good idea
Can you imagine an Everton fan doing that? No?
What about a fan from any other club other than the RS?! Also no?
You could scour TikTok for hours, and come up with zilch.

This is them without winning anything. After May, believe you me, the internet is going to become insufferable!

This is what annoys me most. All those years Spurs were putting in top class performances at the Etihad then look like a club team whenever they play Liverpool. Bournemouth are doing the same now, brilliant before they played Liverpool, brilliant after, couldn’t hit a barn door against them. I don’t think Eddie Howe has ever beaten Liverpool and even lost at home with a good Newcastle side after being one up and against ten men.

I know Liverpool have had a good team in this time but so have City and Arsenal and you just don’t see these complete capitulations on a regular basis from teams in form against them.
Premier League simply isn't a competitive as it used to be. While I think Moyes bottled it in a few derbies against RS, mostly we gave them a game. Same when we played Chelsea, United and Arsenal too a lesser extent we'd give them a game. It isnt about ability or quality of sides, it's just teams quite happy to bend over against RS, to suit media narrative. Teams only started challenging them last season towards end when they had to. It's gone on for years, it's like when RS who struggled to even get into group stage in 07, got to final. Miraculously got Barca and Chelsea at Anfield in 2nd leg. When they had to play away in 2nd leg against Chelsea they lost twice. City, Arsenal and Chelsea aren't media darlings. RS are.

Lived in fear of them winning a title for years, when it was hypothetical (I can barely really remember their last one, and certainly don’t have the same media ecosystem to contend with at the time)

Then it happened a few years back and… meh.

Genuinely couldn’t be less fussed about them winning it this season. I’ve noticed that as I’ve gotten older my general level interest in football outside of Everton has massively diminished. The last few years that we’ve had - with real existential threats to the very existence of our club - has probably contributed too.

Good point, mate.

They're on the verge of winning a title, yet they're more obsessed with us, than we are with them!
RS.webp

Every chance they get, they haven't stopped belittling our new stadium. 🤦‍♂️

This is the reason why I block anything remotely linked to the RS. I intend having a football free summer for my own peace of mind except, of course, for this forum.

Absolutely this. In work they RS fans were by far the loudest . Now that I've retired I don't really give a toss about whether they win or not.

You know I wasn't ordained to follow any particular team. My dad liked rugby growing up... and yes, sometimes I do wonder what I've missed out on by choosing the blue route.

I could have been in that pic with my best mate celebrating the RS' UCL win in 2005. The memories I could have had alongside my grandad and great aunt in the Centenary stand, the endless street cred from (soon to be) 20 league titles, the (likely) 7 European cups, and winning the EFL Cup with the same effort it takes me to flick a light switch. Lord knows these cringy Meetups with fellow 'yo-pros' from every wool town imaginable would be far less awkward.

But then I'd be one of them. Believing that I above all others somehow made all that happen, despite the fact that 17 of their titles and four of their European cups predate my birth. I'd represent everything football should stand against - greed, corruption, murder, poor sportsmanship.... and more recently, forced evictions.

That I have avoided being one of 'them' is the greatest victory anyone can ask for.
Or as a wise man I once said - I'd rather walk alone

At least the leagues been won now, months before the seasons end. It would be much worse if was won on the final day.
Most people will have lost interest in it by May, bar their fans of course.
And that’s what they hate the most. People not taking an interest in them.

See they are also buying up the houses behind the Kenny Dalgleish stand. Another loft extension incoming.

I think as our relegation fears have eased it's started to bother us more that those c u nxt tuesdays are going to win the league etc. That covid title has taken the sting out of it a bit but they are still the most unbearable around, turn off the social media, whatts app etc for a couple of weeks in May. On another note, notice they got a new Adidas deal, why have we never had an Adidas kit? would love an adidas kit.

It really hasn’t. It’s been over for months. I genuinely couldn’t give a toss

I think you've hit nail on the head there, they haven't had any proper challengers. We were crap under Dyche, yet comfortably got draws against Arsenal, Chelsea and City. How many times have Arsenal bottled it this season? It was decided before season that RS were going to win it, it's why they desperately checked Tarkys goal, anything to Murder Inc race to premier league title.
