Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Signings will take of themselves, just want to see Illy and Alcaraz in
Seems pretty obvious we won't be able to cover all areas in one window. I feel sorry for whoever is in charge of transfers in summer. They'll get crucified for whichever area we end up short in

I'm just going to be happy we're just developing rather then making do like we have in previous years.

A place in the CL will do me.

Yes, this is the reality, especially considering we need depth as well as first team quality. We will need to look for smart deals to bulk up the cover options and be smart with the funds to buy the marquee guys. ‘No brainer’ free transfers, actually effective loans, more faith placed in youth players (I assume Armstrong will be considered in the rotation next season if not sent out again) will be needed to try and address as much as possible. McNeil and Ndiaye especially will be back in the squad, the Alcaraz deal is already on the table if the club is happy with him. The areas of most need are the ones that’ll need to take priority and everywhere else we’ll have to hope it works out. CB, RB, LB and RW are all the priorities for me, with a ST and another CM and winger probably being needed on top of that. Even to address the immediate priorities, we may need to pull a rabbit out of a hat from somewhere to add quality without breaking the bank. I’m weirdly excited for summer despite knowing with Moyes it’s always the last few days :’)

I don’t think it is mate

We have been dog turd for years and I’d say 3/4 of our players were

Look at the improvement when we signed James ….

There is a reason that these players cost so much money … because they make a massive difference .

If we signed isak for example … we would be climbing up the league and if he stayed fit we’d be going for Europe .

Obviously we aren’t getting him … but I agree that signing 4-5 50k a week players does not get you into the top 6-7…. You need quality to be consistent enough to do that…. Or an amazing scouting network
At some point ,hopefully sooner than later better quality players plus their relevant increased wages will have to be bought if we want to be challenging at the top end of the table.
Depends how ambitious TFG are.

Given that we will be replacing half of the squad, can’t help but think that if we play this right, and given that in Moyes we trust, we could transform our fortunes.

The mail has a piece on who the RS will sign at LB this summer, names mentioned:

Kerkez
Hato
Cardona
Cambiaso
Parisi
Hall
Suzuki
Ait-Nouri
Robinson

If we do go for a LB as well I wonder if we'll also be linked with some of the same names.

With Mykolenko at LB I think we may be better off signing a younger mid-term replacement than spending a big amount on one of those names.

If we want Borja we have a massive advantage in that we know his injuries and Chelski don’t want him, that means a potential £10mill gamble I would take, but it ain’t my money.

Need to resolve the Patterson situation and decide where the club sees OBrien playing next season, which probably hinges on the Branthwaite situation.

Most likely scenario in my view is that Branthwaite and Tarkowski carry on in the middle for another year. Moyes keeps OBrien at right back. Patterson stays as reserve right back. Keane goes and we get a new CB in to replace him. We buy a new left back o compete with Milo (perhaps a utility player that can cover along the back)

The rest of the money goes on the forward positions.
Keep O’Brien at RB then get a giant left footed CB and play him LB

Just..,, because.

I know we talk ourselves down when it comes to be an attraction to players....

But given tfg's history of making the most of out of contract players (dybala to roma), we'd be mad not to look at Angel gomes and Jonathan David for a start....
Yes there'll be plenty of options for them but gomes would slot straight into our midfield and give us a bit more control in possession, while David reminds me of isak...

Also reading tuchels comments would anyone take a punt on grealish if the deal suited us?
Needs to be playing, was a different animal at villa and could compliment illy, mcneil and alcaraz in a fluid midfield
