They have been allowed to spend it though, look at how much their starting XI today cost without any big sales I can really think of. Tonali and Isak alone were £60m+ signings. Bruno and Joelinton were £100m between them.

Newcastle becoming successful is not some gatecrashing of the top 6. They’ve just bought their way into it to make it a top 7. Them becoming successful just pulls the ladder further up for anyone else, it doesn’t help us.

Newcastle spent it well.

We did not, or we'd have had the exact same scenarios. I'm sure when we splurged; our costings were very similar.

Would you have had the same disconnection if we'd have used an Oligarch's money?

The difference is, the signings they made improved them, and if they need to, they can sell them for a profit.

We made something like £20m back from our £400m of splurging. Yes the PIF is backwards, but we had our chance in that regard and blew it. It's no different.

Nah, only team apart from city who won it I can't even name is Birmingham. It'll be forgotten about in a months time.

Then again this is Newcastle so they'll end up singing songs for years and probably build a trophy or something.

Not really relevant to us. Happy for my Geordie mate, as it will mean a lot more to him than another trophy for the RS. But subject to a few twitter spats, there isn’t anything historic which divides us a clubs, they’re just not our natural rivals.

We spend a fair amount, but nowhere near the quality of signings Newcastle made. They spent 60 millions plus on a striker, something that not many team would have been able to do, not even the top teams in the country. We were always competing for the top teams rejects, not really competing with the top teams for the best players.

Opinions seem divided about the significance of Newcastle winning the Carabao Cup for Everton FC.

Some seem nea in the game thread. Others seem concerned about the consequences on the behaviour of the Geordies towards Everton and Evertonians.

What's your view?
My view is, i don’t care what any other team win and how many times. I am only concerned about our football club, their behaviour also doesn’t concern me. Their behaviour won’t change towards us if they won or lost, they are the ones that have fabricated this rivalry with us. Don’t lose sleep or time over it.
