Should we be concerned about Newcastle winning the thingy-cup?

I didn't even know there was some sort of Everton/Newcastle thing. I have never spoke or heard from a Newcastle fan once about Everton. As someone said in the world football thread seems like people have just invented a nothing rivalry with a team hundreds of miles away from us. I mean they can hardly talk having not won a trophy for 70 years before today.
Stop talking sense. It doesn't belong in this thread.

Probably because most teams put out reserve sides and even then the big clubs reserve sides still win it more often than not.

It doesn't make any real money and if a manager wins it it seems to give them no credit when it comes to possibly being sacked.

I would like it to mean more but it just doesn't mean much these days. Same with the FA Cup.

The League Cup is now one of the only trophies that can still be won by a non sky 5 club (Spurs are actually in the same boat as the rest of us).

The League and CL is out of bounds to those of us outside of the favoured 5 so clubs like ourselves should be prioritising trophies like this over the next decade.

Can see more English Clubs in that category winning the Conference League too. Newcastle and Villa, and maybe us if we get back in to Europe.

Means a hell of a lot to the fans though

As if fans are important.
To the sport no. But to the people who go every week and spend their lives following a team, yeah it’d be epic.

The sports done anyway. You’ve either got to find solace in a sport that’s rapidly decaying for all but a few or you’ve got to get out imo

Not sure I really care about that. I'd rather win a trophy.
