I'm mid way through "The City's is Ours" on BBC iplayer, really good so far, a few twists and turns, good acting and I like the fact the dialogue feels like it has more scouse slang than usual drama's set in Liverpool. Often some of the less obvious terms are removed because the producers are worried it will limit the appeal.
Some decent accents from people who are not from Liverpool like, Saoirse-Monica Jackson. I love how Sean Bean doesn't even try an accent, everyone he plays is from Sheffield![]()

A well made piece of TV, but I wish we could see a drama set in Liverpool, that does not include drugs, violence, and gangsters.
Isn’t that that just top boy?Imagine pitching these 2 ideas to the BBC.
'A gritty crime, drugs, violence drama set in the black community of Hackney'
BBC worthy = 'this just perpetuates tired , racist, and inaccurate portrayals of London'.
' How about, a gritty crime, drugs, and violence drama set in Liverpool'
BBC worthy. = 'brilliant, when do you need the money?'
