Player Valuation: £60m
Eeugh, if we spend £15m on a 28 year old donkey in a position that is low priority I'll be devoed. They will still want 15 mil is my guess.

ANd that boys and girls, is the real aim for football.Brighton's net spend since 17/18 is -290m, that's over about 8 seasons. It's lower than that figure you quoted from NUFC
If we spend £40m on Longstaff (28), Soucek (30) and Coufal (32) plus presumably a quarter of a million a week (which is what they would want) on their wages then we've learned absolutely nothing.Yeah, i get that. But, taking it down from that point still suggests that we don't have much money to spend. Particularly given the size of the rebuild. Supposedly, Moyes wants Coufal on a free, Soucek if we can get him for £25m apparently and now Longstaff- which would likely cost £15-20m. Would be an absolutely tragic waste of money that.
It sounds like we won't be anywhere near that spending. So, if it was 8 £15m players, that would equal £120m. So if nowhere near, maybe a budget to buy £80m of players amortised, if lucky. That would be 4 £20m players. And £20m buys you sod all (apart from Alcaraz). £40m will probably get you Longstaff and Soucek.
You were the one talking about money spentANd that boys and girls, is the real aim for football.
Forget your first tropie in over 65 years, Brighton won the net spend

100% pathetic can accept a longstaff because of the last year of his deal do coukd maybe be picked up on a lower fee. Coufal aswell for backup but prefer kwp, i get will be some not exciting names but soucek is not a player that would massively transform this side definately can get a player outside prem for better valueIf we spend £40m on Longstaff (28), Soucek (30) and Coufal (32) plus presumably a quarter of a million a week (which is what they would want) on their wages then we've learned absolutely nothing.
Think we need a bit more these days with the 5 sub thing, but I take your point.Remembering that Moyes used to prefer small squads:
GK: Pickford +2
LB: Mykolenko / +1
LCB: Branthwaite / +1
RCB: O'Brien / Tarkowski
RB: Patterson / +1
LM: Ndiaye / McNeil
LCM: Gana / Iroegbunam
RCM: Garner / Armstrong
RM: +2
ACM: Alcaraz / Doucoure
CF: Beto / Chermiti / +1
Ignoring 2 keepers & assuming Gana + Doucoure extend & Alcaraz signs...
...We'd be fine with 6 new signings.
Ex West Ham Employee has said that we are interested and that W Ham would possibly play ball at £20 + apparently. Rumours were that they'd want £35m plus, but he was suggesting much lower. Were you getting these fee's from?
Longstaff has a year less than 18 months eft on his contract. If we end up signing him, any fee we pay will be a PSR spin with someone like Patterson
I would be would not mean it wouldnt stop me looking for more players giving them timeThink we need a bit more these days with the 5 sub thing, but I take your point.
Also, we absolutely shouldn't be renewing Doucoure's contract at any amount.
longstaff yes could see between 10/12 mill is profit becuase came thru so be profitEx West Ham Employee has said that we are interested and that W Ham would possibly play ball at £20 + apparently. Rumours were that they'd want £35m plus, but he was suggesting much lower.
Are you seriously telling me Newcastle, with their PSR issues would sell a player to us for less than £15m who still plays a fair few games for them??
In principle mate, but Coufal's legs have gone and it's very rare to sign good players for less than £20m from the Championship.I have a similar feeling in rough terms about how the summer will go.
I'd fully accept the need to pad out the squad with 3 or 4 players and I'd hope we could avail of loans and frees in the main to do so.
That would leave the bulk of the budget to be spent on 3 or 4 more players. We'll get no value in doing that within the Premier League, so surely it will have to be from the global market and The Championship.
If we do that, I have no problem with us bringing in the likes of Coufal on a free but would have a very big problem spending £25m on Soucek. His value and ability to contribute is only going down.
The money that we do spend should be on players with the opposite profile - a bit raw certainly, but young and with the potential to be worth much more than what we pay for them in short order.
If one £20m signing is worth £50m + in 1-2 years it's worth it and gives us a solid platform to develop.
Not likely as he will have better offers but Johnathan David would be superbHe is probably worth it tbh, he has an extremely high ceiling level, id sooner spend money on Doak than someone like Rigg, we haven't really been linked with any better wide players from what I have seen so far.
YEs they would, as i said, for PSR reasonsEx West Ham Employee has said that we are interested and that W Ham would possibly play ball at £20 + apparently. Rumours were that they'd want £35m plus, but he was suggesting much lower.

This is why I am worried. Moyes' transfer record has been pretty poor since he left Everton. These kinds of deals are more him these days than the kinds of deals he used to do for us.If we spend £40m on Longstaff (28), Soucek (30) and Coufal (32) plus presumably a quarter of a million a week (which is what they would want) on their wages then we've learned absolutely nothing.
He'll move for around £15m if they sell him mate.YEs they would, as i said, for PSR reasons

Archie Gray went for £40m and Sunderland want, and will likely get, similar for Rigg.

I believe this has been covered many, many times, but theres a new stadium we are moving into. How does our revenue increase ?
