This is the problem with bringing in journeymen players even on a free. They just end up costing wages and offering very little.

Played for two clubs before joining us, hardly makes him a journeyman.

Not saying he's not pure tosh mind.

With LENNON in the background, peeping from behind a bush, confused & a little bit teary because he REALLY wants to be here yet he is SO frightened because he knows he'll bear the brunt of the clubs dithering & fannying...and even he will think '...there was supposed to be three of us, I was convinced there'd be three of us...' And he will cry again, get off home and log into GOT...

He took a club for the money in Russia because he knew he wasn't good enough for the very top. That makes him a journeyman in my eyes.

No link mate, been told by someone close to the club.

I heard the same over here in Ireland. Apparently told someone in a restaurant the other night hel be going out on loan and has fallen out with Martinez. Make of that what u want, hope it's true

Unfortunately that was linked to Fellaini's exit (even though the club say it wasn't, it was timed too well and seemed too convenient). I remember Dave Whelan phoning Sky and saying it was off as we were offering bugger all for him. Cue Fellaini's exit and then presto we sign him for the money Whelan wanted. I may be paranoid in that thinking but it seemed too sussed at the time. I think if we had the money we would have spent it by now unless we are waiting for a Black Friday crazy sale the last few hours of the window.

The fellaini money was used for Rom, mate.

The reason for us not offering that much originally was because we were being stingy. As soon as Felli was done RM/BK knew we desperately needed McCarthy and agreed to meet Wigan's price

And I don't think Martinez wanted to sell. Moyes would have sold and strengthened the squad and Martinez has taken a different path.

Correct.

It's going to be interesting next season because if we do badly then I don't think Kenwright is going to stick by Martinez.

Injured for most of last season. Made one sub appearance for Monaco so far.

I miss Fellaini and Cahill. They dominated corners and provided that nastiness that we just don't have anymore. Moyes may not be the tactician that Martinez is, but his teams went all out and fought for results. The players seem lazier under Martinez, and that bothers me.

You have to go out and battle though mate when you take "a knife to a gunfight"
