He's a better player than Stirling, who was bought by a struggling manager trying to look like he was keeping up with the Jones's. You say Stirling, but you neglect to mention their other world class players they do buy, coupled with a world class manager.

Rodwell joined Manchester City who were the league champions and spending fortunes on the best players in the world. He joined them as he was hyped up as the next big thing. He ended up being crap. So there's a lot of similarities with the Stones situation, to be honest.

The thing with Stones is hes a good offensive defender. But the problem is, the most important thing in a CB is defending, at which he has been rather poor at far too often. Sure, his passing fits Barcelona, but Id much rather have a no-nonsense defender who isnt as fancy with his feet, but does his main job quite well. Crazy right?

Be a crying shame if he goes, he's gonna be Boss, I blame the Wools who abused him last season, who could blame him, but lets have it right he had some good moments here but is no where near a great player at this time and hardly improved the teams standing when picked. We'll see. I think he has been hyped to the extreme. He was also utterly awful for at least 50% of last season.

As The Esk explained before, although paying transferfees won't be a problem we do need his, Barkey's or Lukaku's transferfee to pay for the increasing wage bill.

Cant help but feel we will get messed around over this ! If city gives us 50 mill .... Fantastic ! However we essentially have a player put in his second transfer request and is attempting to dictate which team he will be sold to.... Big test of Moshiri / Koeman to get a price and deal that best suits US !
