I dont think it was either. Martinez signed him the january before his sacking didn't he? Then Walsh and Koeman came on board.

Yup it was Martinez as those of us who had the unfortunate pleasure of watching him against West Ham three years ago- scarily very similar to last night, will not forget! Koeman didn’t do much to shout about here but he had Niasse sussed out!

Victim of circumstance, makes changes for fresh legs, all they were tasked with was seeing out a 2 goal lead to a team that had let us have the easiest evening of the season for 93 minutes, then individuals had brain farts under pressure from a desperate team who were bombing forward.

It has nothing to do with who played where for 20 minutes, they are professional footballers.
Absolute tosh. We were totally dominant for 70 minutes playing attacking football. For the third time in 3 games he then changes that to a defensive set up and it cost us again. Davies on the left??? Really? Niasse at all??? Really?
If he put Gordon on when he took Bernard off we win that game it's that simple, they had no answer for our attacking play but his subs basically invited them back in to the game. Just like west ham and Brighton.

Am not too arsed about it as we played very good football for 70 minutes but if he is going to keep negating the good work by trying to see out games with sub standard players in the wrong positions then it will happen again and again.

Thank you for your opinion, it's wrong but thank you for sharing.I've said my opinion, no amount of calling it tosh is going to make me agree with you.

I did tell you all that Ancelotti's subs would cost us. Almost did against Brighton and did yesterday.

My mate is a Chelsea fan and he hated Ancelotti when he was there. Yes he won them the league, but he said that was down to the players. Ancelotti's tactics and subs were a joke.

The super blues at the match will soon see through this frauds defensive negative dour tactics.

To be honest bringing Niasse on and leaving Gordon on the bench should be a sackable offence in itself.

The next Pellegrini.

Saddens me that people are pinning there hopes on the two biggest frauds in football (Brands + Carlo).

Give me the Moyes anyday.

There are bad posts and then there is this.

Stop getting all flusted.Im asking do you think that was the correct substitute to use at the time. You need to calm down, giving people the finger because you didn't like or understand the question.

Changing the context of you're question, the one I gave a perfectly good answer too, to try and get me to change my opinion, will earn you a finger. I'm flustered.yet here you are whining about an emoji, the irony.

Agree with all that mate.

So you think that trying to see it out for twenty minutes for the third time in three games with substandard players in the wrong position is the right thing to do? Even though it has cost us before Genuine question.

I'm not whining I invite them.So you will not answer my nice question then?

His two interviews were terrible, "just on of those things that happen in football", he seemed almost slightly amused. It's all happened before (he told the naive reporter). No Carlo, you proved to be incompetent and now arrogant. Everton ceased going forward once Kean and Bernard were withdrawn, We lost our shape which had Newcastle well beaten throughout the game. You pressed the button and we retreated and let the worst Newcastle side seen here in years to have the ball. Utterly foolish, naive and purposeless substitutions made by the great Carlo, replacing two key effective front players with incompetent defensive players. You are not a great manager, just another expensive occupant of the managerial chair. Sort yourself out Carlo or the fans will turn on you faster than you can imagine. It was a slap in the face for a near full house. This has nothing to do with inheriting a crap squad. Your first choice had them well beaten, so why change with a 10 day break ahead? Tongue in cheek I asked the club for a refund, they politely declined. Maybe Carlo should pay.
you beaut. Deluded

Last night was all about a lack of mental toughness. Fostering the strength to see games out doesn't happen overnight. We need to give Carlo the time to work on that. Identify the players who can improve in that area and ship out the ones beyond help.

Get used to it, it's what he does and he probably expects players to be able to play in other positions. The bench was awful and tired legs, he thought what I assume he thought was the right thing at the time to do. A bloke on the internet knows better though lol

Spot on. But can we also ship out the fans who encourage the utter nervousness in our, admittedly mentally weak, players?
