Blues Outsinging Opposition Supporters

From the away end at Newcastle (the Leazes Stand) I was impressed by how the Newcastle fans continued to try to rouse and encourage their players, even when they were 1-0 behind. It was my first away game for years so I hadn’t seen such support in a long time.

I don’t think abusing your own players really achieves much, other than to destroy their confidence and make them play even worse.
They were 1-0 behind for about 11 seconds.

The campaign worked.

A bit of singing and they all showed their manhood today, standing up firmly against the opposition. Even the ever tumescent Salmon off the bench showed he could move his ample girth after Lampard pulled Richarlison off.

Marvellous stuff.

Can’t link the article, but just read an interesting scientific piece that when football fans boo players or shout (or write) bad things at young men, they are actually projecting a reflection of what they think about themselves.
