Not deserving of a starting place at this point
I really question this attitude. First of all, he needs game-time to get properly fit. Secondly, he bossed it as a target man, playing with his back to the goal. Really bossed it.
Are you one of those who wont give youth a chance either if they are not be best person for their position immediately?

He's playing within himself, but then even at his best, he's not really what I'd call an eye-catching performer.

I thought his hold-up work was decent, and he was trying to drop deep to get involved rather than just hanging around the edge of their box.

Thought it was interesting how often he was pinning their centre backs today as we were building attacks.

Don't recall him using his strength in that way too often before. Was similar to how Lukaku play, and if you get the likes of Richarlison, Gordon, Gray, Dele running off him it should be a really useful tool for us
I noticed that too, ball into his feet and emphasis on good shielding and laying the ball off. He couldn't have done that 5 years ago.. Thats something been worked on the training pitch. He will get better with that and we have plenty of pace to play off this shield. Drogba was a master at it.
