Sounds like a grade 2 LCL tear if that's the case, which is a major bullet dodged. Also reassuring if it indeed isn't the quad. Pretty standard random niggle that players recover fully from.
 


Absolutely NO. Gomes was inconsistent long before the Son incident and it’s absolutely impossible that he plays another game in the Prem. Absolutely not a viable option.
Correct, Gomes looked great in his loan season, but, towards the end of that, opposing teams sussed him. If you give him time and space, h is very good. If, however, you close him down, deny him space and put him under pressure he is unable to cope. This was before his injury, most teams just had him sussed, the odd time he was not singled out to be pressured, he looked a really good player.

There is a very good player in there, but, not in the premier league. It wasn't his injury that made him look out of his depth, he was never as effective after his loan season.
