I'm sad for the family they lost a loved one, but this is stopping other people albeit somewhat minor in the grandscheme of things, stopping their lives because someone else's ended. It's a bit overkill man.

I don't think that's being harsh.
Er you do realise that in the UK during this period that: all roads are closed; shops and supermarkets are banned from selling alcohol; facebook and twitter are highly restricted; all emails have been switched off; and people in parks are not allowed to feed the ducks as they are technically the (now dead) Queen's property.

Tell me that's not overkill.

Gone too soon… Can’t believe it.

Damn or be damned, a good 75% of fans would observe anything planned but that’s not what would be focused on, everyone would get tarred with the same brush as the 25% that wouldn’t be observing
...yes, and what?

If that's the case then just gtf on with it. People would have had a choice to stay silent or not. Should the football industry and every football club in it be responsible for every fan?

That's like saying Royal Mail or the NHS are brought into disrepute if a parcel goes missing or a patient gets misdiagnosed.

The more I see bootlicking serfs on telly outside Windsor Castle or Buckingham Palace, the more I want the city of Liverpool to have nothing to do with it all.
If that game against West Ham goes ahead a 'period of silence' wont be observed by everyone, no way. They better have an anthem ready and cranked up to 11 to shove on.

There's a tipping point with this grief porn, and we're nearing it.

Haha
It hasn't even started yet , remember the outpouring for Diana ? Well think at least double that.
Just wait till you see the crowds next weekend , it will be unprecedented.

That's what I'm saying. Footy fans deprived of the game they love while other sports fans get their fix will see the injustice of that and react. And the continual grief porn will prompt that reaction even more. Nothing more certain.

I think they've already took that into account , there'll be midweek games but no games next weekend.

FWIW Everton today have contacted a few employees today who work match days to check on availability for next weekend, so as it stands the club believe we are playing the West Ham fixture
